Job Purpose

  • Act as an SME for responsible BSS Application/Domain (Prepaid CRM and Work-Flow Applications)
  • Manage and oversee multiple IT BSS projects executed by project managers in his team to achieve a strategic objective, on time and within budget
  • Own complex projects/programs and governing multiple partners/vendors for integrated plan and drive partners to deliver within agreed milestones, scope with quality
  • Define the overall program vision, goals, and roadmap
  • Create a program management plan covering scope, schedule, resources, risks and governance and continuously monitor it and manage stakeholders and related communication
  • Identify program level risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead program change control and incorporate alterations from projects
  • Play a leadership role and Coach, motivate and support project managers to enable their success
  • Promote collaboration, best practice sharing and issue escalation between project managers and operations managers as and where appropriate
  • Responsible for availability of the Business services in the application stack from an operations point of view that includes uptime, correctness, new capabilities, upgrades and improvements.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

  • Planning and Initiating programs, defining project requirements and generating ideas
  • Ensuring participation in all Application domain specific solution and low-level design documents review for the projects to ensure that the optimized solution is proposed and aligned with technical / business roadmap
  • Driving delivery, managing timelines and stakeholder’s expectation of Complex projects / programs in One Box / Waterfall / Agile methodology. Liaising & managing partners to ensure delivery as per the agreed solution.
  • Ensuring that all the organization laid security frameworks are being followed
  • Providing support, negotiating scope and timelines, solving problems, managing conflict during project / program delivery phase
  • Establishing technology, tools and processes like AIML, Gen AI, Cloud, CICD to improve efficiency through automation and reduce manual processes/intervention in all IT areas.
  • Build IT capabilities to create superlative digital ecosystem – digital customer, digital enterprise and digital trade
  • Modernizing IT platform / applications and adoption of open source Evaluating finished projects, meeting business expectations and ensuring quality assurance
  • Develop and implement program strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Identify and mitigate program risks and issues
  • Raise the service guarantee commitments through periodic improvements and automations
  • Manage the Operational KPIs for the Business services in the Application stack along with governing SLAs with the vendor partners. Basis SLA targets, initiate and run SIPs while ensuring that the Domain roadmap is adhered to.
  • Focal for Incident/Change/Release/Capacity management for the application stack of the domain along with being responsible for the stack upgrades from time to time.
  • Needs to ensure the ITSEC security policy compliance for the Application stack under responsibility.

 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in IT deliveries for BSS applications system and operations management.
  • Sound knowledge of Telecom BSS domain (especially CRM(COTS) and surround applications), related business process and IT mapping across BSS.
  • Sound Knowledge of Telecom Prepaid business processes.
  • Experience of leading at least 1 platform upgrade project
  • Exposure to business technology components include but not limited to Java, Angular, Spring boot, JBoss, Apache wildfly, DB (postgres), Linux.
  • Exposure of DevOps and CI-CD processes - GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Exposure of test automation tools - JMeter, java, selenium
  • Experience in product implementation, mapping and migration of COTS products.
  • Experience of working in multi-vendors/Multi stakeholder assignments, thus understanding diverse processes and approaches.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft project professional / Excel / power point /Visio/word
  • Well versed with ITIL processes like Incident Management, Change Management, Release management, Problem Management etc.
  • Experience with Automation and automation/visualization tools – Python, Selenium, Ansible, Perl Scripting, ELK, Grafana etc.

Must have technical / professional qualifications/Soft skills

  • BE/B-tech/MCA degree or Management degree in IT/Systems
  • Sound knowledge of Agile/DevOps frameworks/methodology and Tools
  • Sound Knowledge of SDLC
  • Industry certifications like PMP, ITIL v4, CSM 
  • Technical degree from Premium institute will be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
