Job Purpose
|
Their primary purpose is to:
Manage and maintain Mobility OSS platforms, including those from vendors which primarily will Samsung USM, Nokia NetAct and secondarily Ericsson ENM, OSSRC, Huawei Taishan, ZTE UME and Mavenir CMS OSS.
Oversee and manage the daily activities of a team of OSS engineers during their assigned shift, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Guarantee the reliability and performance of the mobility network's OSS infrastructure by monitoring systems, responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, and implementing necessary solutions in a timely manner.
Coordinate network maintenance and updates, communicating with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption to services.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, maintaining a secure and efficient operational environment.
Act as a point of contact for network operations and internal/external stakeholders during their shift, addressing escalations and ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
|
OSS Management: Manage and maintain Mobility OSS platforms, including those from vendors which primarily will Samsung USM, Nokia NetAct and secondarily Ericsson ENM, OSSRC, Huawei Taishan, ZTE UME and Mavenir CMS OSS ensuring optimal performance and reliability in line with business requirements.
Network Monitoring: Utilize OSS tools to monitor the health, performance, and capacity of optical and microwave transport networks, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve network faults and performance degradation, leveraging strong troubleshooting skills in Cloud, Linux, and Windows environments to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Configuration Management: Implement and manage configurations for RAN and CORE equipment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Alarm Management: Monitor and manage alarms using tools such as TEMIP, promptly responding to critical events and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
OSS Upgrades: Plan, execute, and validate upgrades for OSS platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal network disruption.
Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new network elements, technologies, or services into existing NMS and EMS environments, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance. Security Collaboration: Work closely with Security teams to address vulnerabilities identified during Business Assessments (BA), Vulnerability Assessments (VA), and Mitigation Activities (MA), ensuring network security and compliance.Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, troubleshooting procedures, and security measures for reference and audit purposes. Training and Development: Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies, industry standards, and security best practices through continuous learning and training sessions. Vendor Collaboration: Engage with various equipment vendors to address technical issues, coordinate software upgrades, implement new features or enhancements and ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
|
Experience: - 8+ Years of hands on experience with Samsung and Nokia OSS platforms for network monitoring, fault resolution, FCAPS management. Along with hands on Linux, DB, VMware, RHOCP and other cloud platform system administration.
Competencies
Problem-Solving: Diagnose and fix complex network issues quickly using Samsung USM, Nokia NetAct, Linux, and container orchestration knowledge.
Automation: Promote automation and scripting (Bash, Python) to optimize processes and streamline tasks.
Knowledge
Mobility OSS: In-depth understanding and practical experience on Samsung USM and Nokia NetAct OSS platforms for managing mobile networks (RAN, Core) To resolve issue related to network monitoring, fault resolution, FCAPS management.
System administration: Expert-level knowledge of Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on OSS: Practical experience with Samsung and Nokia OSS platforms for network monitoring, fault resolution, and configuration management. Other OSS like Ericsson ENM, OSSRC, Huawei Taishan, ZTE UME and Mavenir CMS OSS hands on will be added advantage.
Scripting & Automation: Strong experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) for automating OSS tasks and managing container environments.
Incident/Problem Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve network incidents and problems using relevant tools and processes

|
Technical Qualifications:
Certifications: RHCSA or LFCS, CKA, RHOCP
Skills: Expertise in Linux, RHOCP, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/Databases, Cloud Platforms.
Professional Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering (CS/Telecoms).
Experience: 8+ experience in telecom OSS like Samsung/Nokia OSS administration and troubleshooting.
