Job Purpose

Central Postpaid Charging System (RECC/Optiva/Ericsson) and Enterprise Operations Lead/SME will be responsible for overseeing and managing PAN India Operations of Postpaid Charging System (RECC/Optiva/Ericsson) and surround Applications / Eco System and applicable Enterprise platforms, Network and Infrastructure including Cloud. This includes smooth operations of the Platforms, Best in class Business Product Delivery, and Effective Governance.

 

Role will be responsible for Driving Continuous Improvement, Operational Process optimization with digital mindset. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintain and improve Charging Platforms performance, oversee Cloud and Digital transformation projects, Expansion and Software upgrades. Drive Operational enhancement Programs.

 

This role is Accountable for statutory audit compliance, operational security points and Revenue exposure due to system/product issues.

 

Applications: RECC/Optiva/Ericsson IN, Enterprise solutions

 

Elements: Routers, Switches, Load balancers, Servers, Storages from different make and model

 

Platforms: Kubernetes Cloud (Open Shift), Linux, ORACLE, VMware etc

 

Database: Oracle, TimesTen, MySQL etc

 

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

  • Service Uptime – Responsible to achieve 99.999% uptime of all RECC / Postpaid Data Charging Applications and applicable Enterprise platforms.

 

  • Emergency Handling – Responsible for Efficient emergency handling with minimal customer and revenue impact. RCA review with OEM/Concerned Stakeholders and ensuring closure of all RCAs. Ensure fix rollout PAN India

 

  • Problem Management: Ownership of Corrective Problem Management and Proactive Problem Management. Ensuring availability of RCA/RFO of all incidences, arrange fix for PAN India and rollout. Periodic review of P1/P2/P3 tickets and work towards reductions. Exploring Automation to prevent P1s. Ensuring all Alerts are getting generated in the system and integrated with Alarm monitoring tool.

 

  • Governance: Responsible for Periodic review of Operational Processes and rollout. Vendor Governance, SOW finalization, SLA/KPI review. Periodic Operational reviews with Vendor, NOC and Circle. Ownership of Backup, User Access Management and Spare management process.  Driving Continuous process Improvement. Explore process automation wherever possible.

 

  • Projects: Accountable for driving flawless operational rollouts, ensuring minimal customer and revenue impact. Participate in Expansion/Modernization project, give key operational feedback during project initiation phase.

 

  • Application and System Security: Accountable for closure for PAN India security (Operational) open points. Accessing Risk to the system and document the risk and get it approved from management

 

  • Statutory Audit Compliance: Participate in discussion with internal and external statutory auditors for audit scope finalization. Establish Standard Operating Procedure to ensure zero compliance breach

 

  • Collaboration: Close co-ordination with various Core, IP teams to fix Service impacting incidences. Drive the activity till closure.

 

  • Inventory Management: Periodic updates of Inventory and ensure inventory up to date

 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

  1. Sound knowledge of Prepaid Voice/SMS/USSD/Data/Policy charging call flow.
  2. Sound knowledge of CAMEL & Diameter protocol. Should be able to do analysis on traces/tcpdump.
  3. Should have prior experience of working in Operations domain and aware about operational processes, Risk, Compliance, Security and Governance
  4. Should have strong experience in stakeholder and people management (MS partners OEM Partners, cross functional teams, Circle teams etc.)
  5. Understanding in Cloud technology, Data Core, Voice Core, SMS Services, VoLTE technologies is plus

 

Must have technical / professional qualifications

  1. BE/B. Tech in Electronics & Communication
  2. ITIL, IP related & Cloud related certification would be added advantage
