Job Purpose

Support in governance of compliance, issuing advisory & litigation

management

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
  • To support and guide Cluster tax / COE tax team for regular queries;
  • To support during projects the related to system development;
  • To liaise with Cluster tax / COE tax and ensure faster and smooth progress on assignments and projects;
  • To internally audit processes and suggest areas of improvement;
  • To support during various audits, enquiries and investigations;
  • To support in tax litigations including drafting, preparing of submissions etc.;
  • To prepare Standard Operating Processes;
  • To prepare various MIS as required from time to time;
  • To assist teams in drafting replies to notices including refunds;
  • To prepare GST legal updates for internal circulation;
  • To support team (directly / indirectly) in other projects;
  • Review of Contract / agreements from indirect tax perspective and suggest suitable changes if required

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
  • Well versed with tax technology
  • This being a corporate role, the incumbent will be positioned to advise regional teams on timely basis on tax positions, rate of tax / duty, setting up or changes in processes, structuring of any transaction, etc. under consultation of reporting manager;
  • Should hold good liaising skills, required for internal co-ordination within various stakeholders as well as for Govt authorities;
  • Should possess good interpretational skills;
  • Should be good in legal and other subject based research;
  • Should have good drafting skills - to be able to draft responses to inquiry letters or notices issued by Govt authorities;
  • Should be able to drive department audits, inquiries, investigations, etc. with good strategy;
  • Should have eye for details to be able to spot areas for improvement in the processes

Must have technical / professional qualifications
  • CA / CMA / CA+LLB / CMA+LLB
  • Incumbent holding mix of corporate & consulting experience with top 10 consulting firms (including law firms) shall be preferred
  • Should have very strong logical reasoning
  • Should have strong command over English language
