Zonal Sales Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure overall zonal operations are managed effectively, enabling continuous growth in customer base and revenue market share through effective distribution, timely network investments, seamless customer delivery, and efficient cost management to improve zonal efficiencies.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Sales

  • Deliver overall Gross, GAS, and Customer Market Share targets for the zone.
  • Achieve targeted net additions across all products (voice – prepaid/postpaid, data, VAS, etc.) across all sales channels (Distribution and MTO/SPO) in the zone.
  • Achieve channel infrastructure enhancement targets (UAO, DURO, SPO outlets, etc.).

 

Revenue

  • Deliver overall revenue targets for the zone across all products and channels.

 

Budgetary Control

  • Achieve savings on allocated COCA / SAC (controllable components) and G&A budgets at the zonal level.

 

People

  • Manage changes in business, organization, and people to ensure continuity and smooth operations.

 

  • Coaching, mentoring, and retention of on-roll team members.

 

  • Management of off-roll employees and agencies (in CS, Sales & Retail).

 

  • Drive compliance with HSW norms across the zone and extended partner population.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

  • 8–12 years of distribution and/or general management experience in Telecom / FMCG / Mass Retail Distribution industry.

 

  • Experience in distribution planning and channel strategy implementation, including managing a large number of partners of varying sizes and complexity.

 

  • Ability to lead, engage, and coach large teams for effective performance.

 

  • Thorough understanding of business levers to drive revenue growth and profitability.

 

  • Ability to manage dynamic, high-uncertainty environments with independent thought leadership and strong execution capability.

 

  • Strong influencing skills, analytical and commercial acumen, effective relationship management skills, and proven ability to operate within a matrix organization.
