Job Purpose

 

The Prepaid Data Marketing Lead at Vodafone Idea is accountable for driving 4G and 5G data user growth, usage, and monetization across circles, while supporting timely 5G launch and extraction. The role will work closely with Circle Marketing, Network, Sales, Digital, and Analytics teams to improve base quality, reduce second SIM dependency, increase renewals, and strengthen Vodafone Idea’s prepaid data proposition.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

 

Grow 4G & 5G Data Users and Usage

 

  • Deliver 4G and 5G Unique Users (UU) and data usage as per DB/OP targets.
  • Improve ULD penetration, usage depth, and prepaid data ARPU.
  • Design targeted offers and micro-market actions to convert high-potential non-data and low-usage users.
  • Track circle-level performance and drive corrective actions.

 

5G Deployment Enablement & Extraction

 

  • Partner with Network teams to support circle-wise 5G rollout as per approved timelines.
  • Ensure commercial readiness for 5G launches (packs, pricing, communication, GTM plans).
  • Drive early 5G usage and monetization in live 5G clusters.

 

Drive 5G Adoption, Retention & Win-back

 

  • Lead circle GTM actions to increase 5G handset-based adoption and active usage.
  • Reduce 5G droppers, improve renewals, and win back churned users.
  • Address barriers related to device readiness, awareness, and experience.

 

 

VoLTE & VoWiFi Growth

 

  • Drive VoLTE and VoWiFi penetration across prepaid base.
    Coordinate with Network, Devices, and Customer
  • Experience teams to improve adoption and experience.

 

New Initiatives & Innovation

  • Identify and launch new prepaid data growth initiatives aligned to VI’s strategic priorities.
  • Pilot innovative propositions in pricing, bundles, partnerships, and digital journeys.
  • Scale successful initiatives across circles.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

 

  • Telecom & Data Business Acumen Strong understanding of prepaid data economics, 4G/5G ecosystem, ULD, ARPU, and retention levers
  • 5G GTM & Monetization Ability to translate 5G rollout into adoption, usage, and revenue through effective GTM
  • Analytical & Insight-driven Decision Making Uses data to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and drive actions at circle and cluster level  
  • Execution Excellence Converts strategy into on-ground actions with speed and accountability
  • Stakeholder Management Influences cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Customer-centric Thinking Designs propositions keeping customer needs, experience, and value perception in focus

Must have technical / professional qualifications

 

  • 8–12 years of experience in telecom, prepaid data marketing, or growth roles.
  • Strong exposure to circle operations and GTM execution.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred
