Job Purpose

The Lead - Transport Projects governs Vi's national transport network project programme, leading New fiber POP rollout, Access , pre-aggregation and Core IP projects,    access optics and DWDM rollout delivery, driving RFAI and site readiness governance and ensuring vendor, OEM, inventory, and capex discipline across the full transport project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Govern 100% transport project completion within timelines across Access , pre-aggregation and Core IP projects, New fiber POP rollout ,  access optics and DWDM projects rollout.
  • Lead national NOC handover and traffic migration programme ensuring all sites are HOTO-compliant and alarm-free.
  • Drive national RFAI governance across transport project scope — advance RFAI, Fiber FMS port readiness, and post-RFAI resolution.
  • Lead OEM and vendor governance ensuring equipment supply  and execution is aligned with project plans and timelines.
  • Govern dismantling and reverse logistics for decommissioned transport equipment within defined timelines.
  • Lead asset capitalisation ensuring GRN compliance and project capex utilisation within approved timelines.
  • Drive project MIS portal discipline and NSS documentation accuracy across all transport programme deliverables.
  • Govern P&L for transport projects ensuring capex utilisation within plan and inventory idling is minimised.

 

Managerial

  • Lead team coaching, competency development, and certification programmes across the 7-person transport project team.
  • Ensure 100% HSW compliance and zero safety incidents across all team members and project partners.
  • Drive structured performance management and capability building aligned to transport technology evolution.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Education Qualification

B.E./B.Tech — Electronics or Telecommunications; PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred

 

Years of working experience

Minimum 12 years total with at least 6 years in transport network project delivery managing IP, optics, and DWDM rollout programmes
