Job Purpose

Responsible for operations and maintenance of the CS Core and Signaling elements deployed in the circle  such as MSS, GCS, MGW/GMGW, STP & DRA and roaming platforms; Operating Point of Interconnect (PoI) with targeted SLA and compliance

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

  • Uptime -Ensure 99.999% uptime of all CS Core, Signaling nodes
  • Alarms, Fault and Outage handling - Ensure restoration of outages / emergencies in shortest possible time, minimize impact of outage on service by identifying and taking action like implementing work around, temp traffic diversions. Immediate action and resolution of all types of HW, SW faults and alarms; drive preventive maintenance tasks.
  • RS&R management - ensure repair of all HW including Cloud & Cloud IP infra within TAT, zero RNP cards.
  • Redundancy - Ensure 100% redundancy and resiliency for all types of core nodes and its connectivity, review it periodically and suggest for required changes
  • Backup- 100% compliance of Core node back up policy and ensuring availability of back up all the time for any emergency handling.
  • Traffic routing and POI Management - All types of POI management and ensuring zero overflow and congestion. Optimal and efficient routing of all types of calls. Maintain zero blocked circuits; Delivery of enterprise voice products as per business requirement
  • KPI Analysis & improvement - Monitoring of all types of core KPIs like: CSSR, PSR, ASR, SRI SR etc, all types of Clear Codes. Maintain all KPI above benchmarked values and work for its improvement
  • Customer complaint handling - Ensure immediate action of all types of customer complains related to Core network & roaming, detailed investigation and proper resolution.
  • Change implementation and testing - Ensure accurate implementation of all types of changes, judge impact of changes, pre / post service confirmation for each of the change including KPI tracking and impact analysis.
  • Upgrade - Drive SW version and patch upgrades of Core nodes, new feature testing
  • Field support - Extending support to central teams for new roll out including software upgrade and technical testing. Field resource alignment for any on-site activities for Data Core platform HW and new feature testing.
  • Roaming operations management – including establishment of new tie up, periodic testing, roaming complain handling, KPI monitoring, analysis and improvement
  • Compliance - Compliance of internal and external audit, SOPs; Lawful Interception SOP and compliance. Compliance on regulatory testing and compliance.
  • Capacity Management - Ensure all HW & SW utilization is maintained at optimal level and no rejections of any type.
  • Inventory Management:- Ensure latest update on inventory in terms of location, HW, SW, Capacity etc & scrapping of non-live inventory
  • Team management & Training - Mentor all team members , enhance their technical and behavioral skills, keep them positively engaged and motivated, challenge them to bring best out of each individual

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

  • In-depth understanding and hands on working experience on various core nodes like MSS, MGW, STP & DRA and Roaming Platforms
  • Command level knowledge of all types of configuration of these network elements like Nokia DX / ATCA MSS, Ericsson MSS, Blade Cluster, Nokia & Ericsson MGW, Oracle STP and DRA nodes
  • Clear understanding of all types of call flows for CS Core, VOLTE, Roaming, and MNP good understanding of basic PACO call flows.
  • Understanding of various configuration of STP and DRA including role of them in MNP.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud and IP infra like Cloud platforms, router, switches
  • Trace analysis and troubleshooting skills including knowledge of various protocols like ISUP, SCCP, MAP, BICC, SIP, and Diameter.
  • Good understanding of Telco cloud architecture its deployment & operation
  • Good team handling, communication – written and verbal, presentation skills.
  • Analytical, Reasoning and logical thinking skills
  • Positive Attitude towards problem solving, learning new things, adopt changes

Must have technical / professional qualifications

 

BE/B Tech (Electronics and Telecommunications) with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
