Job Description: Manager – Transport Network Operations (Assam & NES)
Role Level: Manager (M1)
Location: Guwahati ( Assam & North East)
Function: Transport Operations and Maintenance
Role Purpose
As a Manager for the Assam and NES circles, you will lead the operational delivery of high-availability transport services. Given the challenging terrain of these regions, your focus will be on maximizing network resilience, driving automation to overcome geographical barriers, and ensuring field team readiness for rapid site restoration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Circle Performance & Customer Delight
Maintain transport service excellence specifically across the Assam and NES circles.
Monitor and hit performance benchmarks: Packet loss < 0.5% and Jitter < 5 ms.
Ensure WAN link availability > 99.99% and manage S1U/Core service performance.
Drive 100% integration of IP and Optical links into SevOne, HP, and MyCom.
2. Operational Excellence
Troubleshooting: Lead site outage troubleshooting and restoration within MTTR, accounting for logistical challenges.
Site Hygiene: Maintain 100% site hygiene compliance with zero deviation across all remote locations.
Audit & Governance: Execute 30% audits of Transport Ops and ensure zero ISP Open Topologies.
Asset Management: Ensure 100% reporting of nodes in Accedian, UIM, Sevone, and Mycom for the NES/Assam footprint.
3. Transformation & Automation
Drive the automation of scripts and reports to ensure >95% of circle reporting is automated.
Ensure 100% compliance with UIM usage for all new network additions in the region.
Execute GPM and site correction tasks with 100% accuracy.
4. Service Improvement & Optimization
Maintain overall network availability > 99.95% for Mobility and Enterprise clients.
Optimize VoLTE KPIs and support ASON implementation on all Core & Aggregation links.
Manage capacity: Keep Core link utilization < 90% and Agg/Pre-Agg < 70%.
Ensure symmetric bandwidth across all network layers (Core, Agg, Pre-Agg).
5. Field Leadership & Development
Field Readiness: Ensure field teams in Assam and NES are equipped with the right plans, tools, and software to execute tasks in remote terrains.
Mentorship: Lead and mentor GETs and interns; conduct 2 in-house OJT sessions per quarter.
Upskilling: Ensure 90% of the team is enrolled in Gyanodaya or industry certification programs.
