Job Purpose

The Consumer Insights Senior Manager is the go-to person for all consumer research conducted in relation to NPS and customer satisfaction, Mass and HVC segment, Advertising and Communication and Jio research. He/she is responsible for speedy execution of projects and linking Insights together from multiple sources with passion. The role encompasses both continuous and ad-hoc studies in relation to these verticals. He/she would also guide Circles on execution of similar projects to meet business challenges.

In order to be able to execute the role appropriately, the person should have the skillset to take briefs, understand business challenges, be able to convert the challenge into a research objective, make decisions on appropriate methodologies, and guide the research agency to do the appropriate analysis that helps the business gain insights that can be converted into actions.


Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

The Consumer Insights Senior Manager is expected to be responsible for all market research undertaken across Vodafone Idea across the Corporate teams and across all circles in relation to NPS and customer satisfaction, Mass and HVC and Jio research. He/she would be involved in all continuous, ad-hoc and Circle level researches and be in a position to deliver them as Insights.

Assist to connect Insights across studies and multiple sources

  • Key studies expected to be involved in: large-scale brand tracking, NPS/CSAT tracking, communication testing, trade satisfaction and ad-hoc/tactical research requirements
  • Be the consumer champion and present an unbiased VOC in the organization
  • Would also be expected to build a deeper understanding about the consumer segment/s allocated to the individual
  • Partnering with the content team on ad-hoc insights requirements
  • Comfortable in designing strategic research for the category e.g. U&As, Choice Based Conjoint studies, MaxDiff prioritization, volumetric/predictive share assessments
  • Be involved in developing a comprehensive insights + analytics based POV for answering business questions by closely working with the Big Data team at VIL
  • Expected to play a key role in making a shift from offline to online + agile insighting regime
  • Be willing to take on other workstreams to facilitate leadership initiatives/strategic projects
  • Prudently manage the part of the insights budget assigned for the role, chart a clear progression plan for subordinate team



Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience


  • Having experience on continuous studies like Tracks, Satisfaction Surveys, Panels, etc.
  • Having the ability to sift through qualitative studies to identify key insights
  • Experienced in connecting research findings to business actions
  • Ability to get the best out of agency partners

Must have technical / professional qualifications

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • MBA (Marketing) or M.Sc. Statistics
  • 8 - 10 years of market research experience
  • Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience with both agency and client side
    • Agency – TNS / Nielsen / MB / IMRB / Ipsos / GfK
    • Client – FMCG / Banking / Telecom / Durables
